As battery manufacturing becomes increasingly digitalised, ensuring the security, reliability and trustworthiness of digital technologies is more important than ever.
On 27 August 2026, Billal Mokhtari will represent the BATTwin project at the upcoming HunCERTalks IT Security Meetup, organised by its partner SZTAKI together with HunCERT in Budapest. The event will explore security and cybersecurity challenges related to energy usage, production, storage and infrastructure.
Billal will present the cybersecurity and trust challenges associated with using digital twins in battery manufacturing.
Digital twins can help improve the efficiency, quality and performance of battery production, but their effectiveness depends on the integrity and reliability of the underlying data and models. Cybersecurity threats or manipulated data can compromise a digital twin and affect the decisions based on its insights. Drawing on the work carried out within BATTwin, the presentation will highlight why trust and cybersecurity are essential considerations when developing and deploying digital twins for battery production.
The HunCERTalks Meetup offers an opportunity to share BATTwin’s work with a broader audience and contribute to discussions at the intersection of battery manufacturing, digitalisation and cybersecurity.
