The BATTwin consortium gathered in Xanthi, Greece, on 2–3 July 2026 for its 8th project meeting, hosted by Sunlight Group at its industrial complex.

Over two days, project partners reviewed progress across the technical work packages, discussed the latest developments in BATTwin’s digital twin technologies, and coordinated the next steps towards the project’s objectives. The agenda included updates on system-level digital twins, workflow integration, industrial use-case validation, communication and dissemination activities, and project management.
Partners have likewise visited Sunlight’s lithium-ion cell prototyping, recycling, and battery module assembly facilities, gaining valuable insight into the industrial environment where BATTwin technologies are being applied.

The meeting also provided an important platform for technical exchange, knowledge sharing, and collaborative planning, strengthening the consortium’s collective efforts to advance more sustainable, digitalised, and competitive battery manufacturing in Europe.

The consortium thanked Sunlight Group for hosting the meeting, which provided an excellent opportunity for technical exchange, collaboration, and strategic planning as the project continued to advance sustainable and digitalized battery manufacturing.
